Whatever may be the perception one can’t deny it is a day of celebration. Around the world Christmas is celebrated, in the nook and corner of the planet where there may be no electricity but there is a Christmas tree however small. There are homes that house people who may have very little savings, but they find happiness in decorating their little house within their means and welcoming the Lord. That is the spirit of Christmas.
There is one more aspect to the spirit of Christmas and that is – giving! Yes, it is the day of gifts. Santa Claus with his gang of elves descends upon earth and makes every kid’s dream come true. With a sack full of goodies that kids yearn to own, Santa Claus finds their abode and empties his sack.
Every elder has something to give for a younger kith and kin. It is a day to spread some good cheer. No one goes hungry on this day and no one goes unwanted on this day. This celebration is inclusive and everyone’s invited. Christmas is the day of the Lord and Lord doesn’t discriminate.
May Lord shower His blessings and may the world live in peace.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas.
