Valentine’s Day isn’t far away and so here is another lesson on relationships for you simple folks. Love happens, but relationships takes hard work to cement. It is not roses and no thorns. You have to work at maintaining a relationship and make it work.
Leave ego outside the door or love will disappear out the window in no time. Do not take yourself seriously. Do not be slighted by your other half for what he or she says. Here’s the secret, loved ones never insult each other. Words are spilled, but emotions are pure. Every curse carries a yearning of love. A hint of expectation that you will cut out a bad habit or maybe just to wake you up to reality. Every fight is an act of love

Do the following things when you are at the receiving end of a barrage of complaints and curses:
Do not interfere.
Do not give your opinion.
Do not look eye to eye.
Do not ignore either.
Be attentive but calm.
Do not overreact.
In fact, do not react at all.
When the voice dies down, stand up and give out a hug.
And a kiss.
Send some flowers if the fight is over the phone and a greeting card.
All will be forgotten. That’s love. It doesn’t judge. It doesn’t keep a grudge. If you fight back or make a rebuttal, all you will be doing is precipitate a feud.
You can be of any gender and can be of any color, it doesn’t matter, you still have someone out there. Go find that person.
Most of the times, the reason for the fight will not be either of you, but someone or something else. To let off steam we may pick on the partner. It is okay to do that. Where else can one go?
A little bit of give and take would take the relationship forward.
Too much of pride and self-centered thoughts would lead to a breakup and worse.
