Family and friends get together on this joyous occasion and make the moments of the day memorable. It is once in a year festival but the preparation for the same happens all through the year.
The day symbolizes goodness and the good vibe is felt all through the world.
There is something about fireworks. Agreed that it sometimes is perceived as waste of hard earned money, but that guilt goes out the window once you hear the sounds and watch the flower pots rain harmless flame. And then there are the diyas on Diwali. The beautiful diyas are lit up and the house welcomes the Goddess from heaven.
A day when the whole family wakes up to the noise of crackers and then takes bath with oil on the head to cleanse and be fresh to smell the delicacies of the morning. Then the new wardrobe comes out and adds color to the proceedings.
One word of caution though. It is a festival where you are in touch with lights and fireworks… Celebrate it in style but be safe when you do it.
