How honest have you been?
When I say honest, I mean how candid have you been with the truth with others in your day-to-day life?
It is hard to be honest all the time is the refrain I hear around me all the time.
Why in the world is it hard, I ask?

I mean, how tough can it be. The problem is we all think that it is something too noble for us to even follow and too impractical for us to practice and worse of all, it is okay to be dishonest once in a while. It is like, the world has accepted it, it has got used to it and it is okay. This is the thought process and the television has brought it to the fore again.
People make careers out of lies and then they give out an interview saying that they had sinned and want to move on.
We accept it. That’s the worst part.
And then there are rehabs. All sort of problems and all sort of bad things done and dusted, you walk into a rehab and we believe that they are doing penance. We feel pity and we feel like okay now let’s give them another chance. And we fall in love with them… Again!
Family values have gone for a toss in the name of independence and freedom while kids go on a shooting rampage for no reason.
There is the trouble. We accept bad behavior and dishonesty without much fuss. That way we are teaching our young ones that it is okay to be bad. We do not show any good role models anymore. Television has become tabloid and every hero is an anti-hero and to be anti-hero is cool.
America was not built for just freedom, but freedom with ethics and solid values. May be we conveniently forgot that part.
