My dear brothers, sisters and friends,
Past weekend was memorable for two reasons. I had spent time with my family and then I spent a good amount of time with myself. Family time was fun with all the nephews and nieces running around and my parents and others treating me like a kid. While the time spent with me was calming because of the blissful loneliness accompanied by a tub of popcorn and a great movie on a lazy Sunday afternoon. These moments give you the strength to face another week. So, here I am.
Butterfly Day [June 19]
Flapping butterflies fly past in poetic motion and they go for the flowers. Imagine the creature that has nectar for lunch. Such unassuming beauties they are and epitome of soft, kind romantic beings.
These kindly creatures bring about a smile on anyone who lays their eyes on them. Butterflies don’t do anything extraordinary nor do they harm, but just by being themselves they enthrall us all. Such unique creature has a day dedicated to it and that’s Butterfly Day. It is time to celebrate romance and appreciate flapping angel!
Full Moon Day [June 23]
Oh! This day again! I love a full moon on my sky! It is the reflection of Aaliyah when she is tucked in bed at her place. I often converse with the full moon and somehow have a feeling that it listens.
Beautiful white moon moves through the clouds and gives me its milky warmth and soothing light making me feel the peace of the night and soul.
Romance has many forms and one of them is the moon. If not for the moon, poets would have had a hard time finding adjectives for love. A full moon is for all to see. Don’t close the drapes yet!
It was Aaliyah’s mom’s birthday on Saturday and we had planned a party-surprise. It turned out good and unlike most of the other surprise birthday parties this one was a genuine surprise for the star of the show.
Her mom is full of energy and amazingly vibrant. Did I mention that she was gloriously beautiful?
Now, you know where Aaliyah gets her good looks from. I am so very much thankful to her mom for that. And of course, beauty is not the only thing that Aaliyah had inherited from her mom, but the quick wit too. She had us in splits all through the evening with her anecdotes from the past and the present. And Steve was her constant target to pull a fast one on. Her unassuming demeanor and genuine way of speaking attracted us to her and we had a great day on her birthday!
Occasions aplenty past week. My parents celebrated their wedding anniversary over the weekend and that’s how I got to spend time with them. They are like the living encyclopedia on how a wedding can last a generation. Happily!
The understanding that they have and the smiles that they share subtly are quite an eyeful. You got to see it to believe it. More often than not, we give up on life and relationships. But ask the people who have made it work and they would tell you it is hard work, but very much worth it.
It is easy to break something, but to put it together again is something that you can never ever do.
Just because we have a choice to end a relationship legally, doesn’t mean we have to do it.
Give it some time. You may see more anniversaries than you ever thought you would.
