Resolutions On A Big Day.

Every new beginning tempts us to make resolutions. It is not about making them for fun, but the fun is in keeping them. No promise is a promise until you keep your word. Even if the word is to yourself.

Rosh Hashanah throws up that beautiful opportunity to make resolutions and keep them.

On a day of new beginnings, here is a list that I had drafted for you. Maybe some of them will suit some of you and some of them will suit all of you. Take what you want, list them in your own notebook and keep them if possible.

Being ready is to make sure you have enough stamina and a lot of savings or at least some savings. There is a need of dough to burn through the holidays and reserve in stamina and good immunity to get through those drinking and dinner binges. You got to be fit and your wallet got to be at least half full.

Spend more time with your family and your loved ones. Maybe at least an hour a day. If not physically possible, call them up for 10 minutes a day.

Stop smoking. Quit it, really. There isn’t anything in it. The more you smoke, the more it is an habit. It does nothing to you, but bad things. Leave it. Not worth it.

Drink in moderation. You don’t need to binge to show your pals that you are fun. You can have one drink or two and then smile a lot. That’s okay. And don’t do that every single day either.

Learn a musical instrument. Yes, do that. What’s wrong with it? You will learn one more way to express yourselves. And if you are a guy, this extra bit will add value in impressing a girl. Every girl with any sense of music will dig such a guy.

Join a meditation, aerobic or Pilates class. It is worth it. It’s worth your time.

Those who don’t spend at least 30 minutes on keeping their body fit everyday don’t deserve a healthy life.

Rosh Hashanah is special not only as a time for new beginnings, but also a day for good resolutions if you are going to keep them.

If you have more to list out, do share with me.
