How To Write Summer Haiku Poem?

Hey writers, poets and readers!

New York is sizzling hot and afternoons are quieter than I had imagined. Most of my friends are taking vacations. The beach and the mountains are calling the New Yorkers. I was sitting in my studio and the idea of writing Haikus struck me.

It is a beautiful way of drawing an image with words. Haiku is a traditional Japanese three-line poem with seventeen syllables, written in a 5/7/5 syllable count. It is not necessarily rhyming but it is always around a theme.

I invite you to submit your Haiku poems. You can write to me here.

The best ones will be featured as summer e-cards in 123greetings.com online cards galore.

So pick up your pens and paper, go to the nearby park, beach or mountain or pavement or back alley and scribble three lines.

I wrote one for Aaliyah, the love of my life.

I see your beauty,

And I melt like the ice-cream

On warm sunny day”

Cheers!
